Ferrari Dino 246 GTS
This car was owned by a very discerning customer who is an experienced engineer and wished to do as much of the restoration as possible himself. He was aware that his skills did not run to major body work and commissioned us to finish that side of the project.
The body shell arrived at our workshop in a travel coat primer which had been applied after shot blasting. Our first job was to weld in the repair panels supplied to us by the owner, as usual these were a very poor fit and had to modified, this came as no surprise, very rarely do after market panels actually fit. Once the shell had been reconstructed we started lead loading, we were amazed at how much lead went in to one of these cars.
With that completed it went through our paint shop where it was finished in the traditional Ferrari Rosso. It left our premises via a Hiab lorry to go back to the customer’s home where he completed it to a concourse wining example of what must be the one of the most beautiful cars of its era.
